Many people have asked me about the URL, "starlightfire" and why I chose it. Briefly, here is a description of what the words separately mean to me. The deeper meaning, however, is more than solely a sum of it's parts.

Stars have captivated the interests of many cultures throughout history. For me, stars hold multiple meanings. Staring into the deep night, I am often reminded of how vast this universe is and how short my time on this watery planet is. For most, this is far from a comforting thought. However, admiring the beauty of the cosmos inspires me to believe that even in the darkness of night, we have been left a small amount of light for guidance and with that brings the promise of the coming morning. Stars give me hope.

Light is that which separates evil from good. Light shows truth from false. Light illuminates the paths we walk and helps us to see things clearly. I am far from perfect, yet it is a standard to which I try and hold myself to: both seeking the light and being a light to others.

Fire is used in a variety of ways, one of which is to purify. Gold and silver are put through a fire process to burn out impurities and separate unwanted substances. I view the trials I experience here on earth as fire that can allow me to be a better person, if I choose.
